FRIDAY FORUM

AIA in ACTION 2018

Your AIA National Strategic Council and AIA California Council have been hard at work looking to the future and addressing member issues related to practice, the profession, the built environment and society. This Forum will include a presentation of this year's ideation topics and action agendas at the national and state levels, looking at such topics as architect's influence at the local level, the value of architect's services, leadership opportunities going forward, and how local components can assume primary roles in making a difference at the local level.

Learning Objectives:
1. Explore AIA's "Blueprint for Better Cities" program that focuses on environmental responsiveness and local action plans to improve the built environment
2. Understand how architects can better influence and elevate issues of health and wellness through changes in governance models at the local level
3. Exchange ideas about how the value of architects services to society might be heightened through new metrics and measurables
4. Discuss Statewide efforts to help architects become leaders on implementation of Zero Net Energy (ZNE) in residential design projects
